Reusing Classroom Artifacts

JGSB Ed Tech at Rice Business. Dear Rice Business Faculty, Please review the information below regarding FERPA and guest speaker releases when reusing classroom media artifacts.

Can instructors re use classroom artifacts? Releases always required for students' presentations, media projects and assignment submissions. Releases are needed if students are seen, named or heard in a guest speaker or online Zoom class recording or classroom lecture capture. The instructor's own intro videos and PowerPoint narrations are always reusable.

^ Students should sign releases for any submissions the instructor wants to use as an example in the same course or another course or term.

** Guest speakers who are being recorded should fill out the Rice Business Photography/Video Release.
